In his closing remarks to the Assembly, Prime Minister John Viseno urged that UN reform make the organization more agile and representative while preserving its three pillars: peace and security, development, and human rights.
"A leaner United Nations is not automatically a better one," he said, adding that reform must honor all three pillars and place small and vulnerable states at the center of the organization's work.
Viseno also announced Biz's support for Caroline Rodriguez Briett of Guyana for Secretary‑General, calling her a "distinguished daughter of the Caribbean" and arguing a Secretary‑General from the Caribbean could help the institution deliver for small states.
He urged that commitments be kept and law applied evenly so trust in multilateralism can be restored and governance outcomes reach beyond conference rooms into everyday lives.
