Mayor Patricia Guerra Frazier and city officials celebrated the 30th anniversary of Smoker's Delight, a longtime cigar shop in Union Center, during a brief public recognition. "Good morning, Union," Frazier said in opening remarks before introducing city staff and the shop's owner.
Dan, the owner of Smoker's Delight, told attendees that the store "opened in September of '96" and that he worked for the previous owner for about seven years before buying the business nearly 16 years ago. He described the store as "primarily a premium cigar dealer" offering hand-rolled cigars and related accessories and emphasized its social atmosphere: "if you are a smoker, come on over, it is a vibe."
City staff joined the congratulatory remarks. "30 years is amazing," said Bill, the assistant business administrator, noting the shop's uniqueness and appeal to both local patrons and visitors. Antonio, the SID director, echoed that personal endorsement, saying he and others were routinely welcomed when they visited and praising the shop's "aura."
Dan also shared practical details for customers: the shop is at 1053 Stuyvesant Ave in Union Center, opens daily at 11:00 a.m. and typically stays open until about 10:00 p.m., and can be reached at 908-810-7352 or online at smokersdelight.com. The segment closed with Mayor Frazier inviting residents to stop by, followed by audience applause.
