Board OKs $88,000 CIB allocation, HWC contract to harden Wolf Lake parking lot

The Hammond board approved $88,000 in CIB funding and a contract with HWC Engineering to modify and harden Wolf Lake parking lot D.

Staff said the allocation grew out of parking problems at a recent festival and that the administration asked the board to approve both the funding and the HWC contract. As presented, the CIB approved the allocation earlier and the board's vote executing the professional-services agreement will allow the engineering work to proceed. "The administration would like us to look at figuring out a way to make that parking area more durable," a staff speaker said during the presentation.

The item passed on the consent agenda with a voice vote. Staff did not provide a detailed scope of work in the public record at the meeting beyond the contract award and funding amount.
