Agency official says extra funding is 'a huge benefit' for the department

An agency official said the department has received additional funds that will be used to address equipment needs, calling it "a huge benefit to the department." "Having this extra money to address some issues, uh, it's a huge benefit to the department," the official said.

The official tied the funding to planned equipment work discussed at the meeting: improving vehicle readiness, replacing a shallow-water rescue skiff, and repurposing existing boats to bolster the swiftwater rescue team. No specific dollar amounts or funding sources were given in the transcript.
