Heard County names Jan Rayfield to DBHDD Region 6 advisory council

The Heard County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Jan Rayfield to serve on the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Region 6 Regional Advisory Council.

Chairman Lee Boone said he had spoken with a local resident and recommended Rayfield, described in the meeting record as a retired special education teacher and Heard County resident. "There being no further recommendations, on motion (Adams) and second (Hammond), the Board unanimously approved this recommendation," the minutes state. The motion was made by Commissioner Joe Adams and seconded by Commissioner Larry Hammond.

The board did not record any conditions to the appointment or an implementation timeline; Chairman Boone was authorized to report back as needed. The action was taken during the meeting’s old-business agenda item and required no expenditure from county funds, according to the meeting record.
