This is our fourth annual Encompass Retreat and it really is so exciting because it's a collaborative effort that brings so many different partners to the table and we can all collaborate and talk about substance use prevention, the host said.
Organizers said the retreat brought current coalition members together and invited new participants to learn about Encompass's work. Participants reviewed initiatives from the past year, discussed what worked and what did not, and considered new data that will shape priorities going forward. A coalition member who said they had been with Encompass since its inception described the group as having "grown exponentially into what it is today."
The event emphasized multi-sector collaboration between community organizations, schools and law enforcement as central to prevention work. Attendees were encouraged to engage with future Encompass activities; organizers directed listeners to the coalition website and social accounts for further information.
