Chair reports networking with Buda economic‑development group to support housing competition

Chair Kaufman told the commission she and other members attended a meeting of the Buda Economic Development Network where staff and regional economic development organizations presented on growth and development in the area.

"This is a great group who we're meeting with...there are architects, students, builders, financial institutions," the chair said, and commissioners said contacts made at the meeting could support the housing design competition either as advisors or competitors. The chair also said she had been in line to ask a question about outdoor accessibility and housing design but the meeting cut questions short; she recommended that the commission maintain the relationship and attend future sessions.

Commissioners agreed to continue outreach to the network and to represent older‑adult accessibility interests at upcoming Unified Development Code advisory sessions.
