The director told the board that grant closeout requirements are active and that the library’s book locker now has electricity and network access; installation is expected in the coming weeks pending contractor scheduling. “We now have the electricity and the networks … it's already been paid for, so it's just for them to come and install,” the director said.
She also described recurring maintenance problems: the Grand Avenue door needs repair, landscaping near the community room door is causing ponding, and many doors are reaching the end of their service life after roughly 25 years. The board discussed placing larger door and window replacements into the city's long-term facilities plan rather than the next year’s operating budget.
The director said locating a clock repair specialist has proved difficult and staff will continue to pursue contractors for painting and other needed work.
