Charter committee schedules public information sessions for Oct. 7 and Oct. 20

The committee scheduled two public information sessions to explain the charter changes and the fiscal projections: Oct. 7 and Oct. 20, both at 6 p.m. in the Senior Center. Chair said the committee will make the revised draft available on the city website and distribute printed copies at the clerk's office and the library.

"October 7th and October 20th and it'll be in the senior center at 6 p.m.," Chair said. Members discussed outreach options, including using the city sign and local press to encourage attendance, while noting the committee must avoid committee-level advocacy and keep materials informational.

Committee members said they expected debate at the sessions and encouraged all members to attend where possible to answer questions. Staff will prepare conservative fiscal projections and explanatory materials for those meetings.
