Mayor Ellison and staff said they have engaged the city's broker and asked the carrier to treat correspondence as a claim so coverage can be determined. "We are working on this and it is all of our intent to be do the right thing," the mayor said. Staff described the carrier as still determining whether letters submitted constitute a claim and said options include formal claim presentation or litigation if coverage is denied. The administration said it will provide more frequent updates and explore collective avenues for resolution for affected current and former employees.
