Council awards 2026 bridge rehabilitation contract for Farnsworth and Ohio Street work

Tim Widner, engineering division, presented the 2026 bridge rehabilitation package, explaining that the principal work is expansion joint repair on the Farnsworth Avenue bridge over the railroad and minor wall/sharing work on Ohio Street. He said the low bidder was within estimate and that structural subconsultants modeled part of the joint work after earlier Chicago Skyway work.

The council moved and approved the contract award. Staff said exhibits in the packet include the bid tab, posted bid documents and the letter of good standing.
