The Kilauea Neighborhood Association convened on Sept. 5, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center classroom with 21 community members present. President Yoshito L’Hote led the meeting through committee reports, updates on local development, conservation initiatives and planned fundraising events.
Treasurer Gary Pacheco reported the KNA checking balance as $4,409.29. Committee updates covered native planting plans for the Lighthouse Village shopping center, a request that developers provide materials to the KNA three weeks in advance for review, communications and brochure revisions, and two planned fundraisers including a food booth and beer garden at the Dec. 16 Christmas concert.
In new business, the board noted the Plateau Subdivision draft map is moving through county departments and the planning director did not attend but is expected to be invited to a future meeting. Staff and community presenters also reported on agricultural-center improvements and a seabird restoration project. The board carried routine motions to approve July minutes and to adjourn at 8:30 p.m.
