Maintenance supervisor Alex Kohout told trustees the village's third lagoon cell is "almost dry" and said the State advised allowing it to go dry; the liner will require annual inspection and the third cell is to be kept as an emergency backup. Kohout also told the board he will be on vacation Sept. 14–18.
The board received an update on the new city shop and dump station pad: a retaining cement-block wall will be required so dirt does not enter the dump station and the contractor is about a month behind schedule, with erection expected in roughly two weeks. Trustees discussed purchasing 2'x2'x6' concrete barriers at $85 each to contain rock and gravel piles. For on-street parking the board decided there will be no parking on the south side of Dimery in the 1000 block and east and asked Kohout to paint diagonal parking lines south of Farmers & Merchants Bank as suggested by the Planning Commission.
