County moves ahead with Sunset Boulevard and Miller Drive resurfacing contract

The committee recommended awarding a contract to APAC Atlantic, Inc. to resurface Sunset Boulevard and Miller Drive and to implement traffic-calming measures. Staff noted the work is paid through the 2018 sales tax program and that only one bid was received; consultants evaluated the lone bid and found it acceptable, and the bid was roughly $40,000 under the engineers' estimate.

Committee members expressed relief that the projects were moving from design to procurement and supported advancing the award to county council for contract execution and scheduling. Staff said design and contract execution will be coordinated with available funding and any required permits.
