The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees voted to authorize a contract award for campus wireless access points, administration said.
Administration told the board the competitive sealed proposal process for RFCSP CSB2526.12‑001 produced a low bid from Global Asset for $388,682. The district applied for federal E‑rate funding and was awarded a 50% discount, which administration stated amounts to $194,340.89. Administration also said completing the project before December would avoid roughly $41,123 in licensing costs, leaving the district with a net cost the presenter estimated at about $153,000, to be paid from the 2021 bond authorization.
"We were able to receive a 50% ... discount, on this project, which amounts to $194,340.89," administration said. Trustee Grant DuBois moved to approve the contract award as presented; the motion was seconded and the item was approved.
Administration said the project had been previously presented in February and that E‑rate eligibility improved the district's overall value proposition; staff said two firms submitted proposals by the January 22, 2026 deadline.
