Committee members raised concerns that meeting once a month leaves insufficient time to advance projects and recommended framing a strategic vision with clear action items and deadlines. One speaker urged the group to identify champions who would take projects forward between meetings and return with progress reports.
A staff member suggested two practical mechanisms: (1) use motions at committee meetings to formally direct work and (2) ask for an agenda date through three supportive board members so fuller board discussion can occur. The staff member noted the town has an annual written-report requirement due Feb. 1 that the committee could piggyback on to present work and progress to the board.
Members discussed using targeted work sessions for issues that require more than a couple of people and emphasized matching volunteer energy to realistic project loads. The committee agreed to start drafting priorities and asked members to bring written ideas to the next meeting so tasks could be assigned more effectively.
