The council approved several administrative and community items: it authorized updating signature cards at People's Bank to remove a departing official and add current council members; it nominated and confirmed a council representative to the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) board; and it approved converting the city's Haunted Halloween event into "Fall at the Hall," a predecessor-of-Halloween family event coordinated with first responders.
A council member moved to remove the formerly authorized signer and ensure council members and the mayor appear on bank signature cards; the motion carried. Billy Hendriks was nominated and unanimously confirmed as the city's HOT-board representative. For the seasonal event, staff proposed shifting emphasis from costumed activities to a fall festival with police, fire and other first-responder displays and a trunk-or-treat; council approved the conversion. City staff said the hall would remain closed except for restroom access and that participating agencies will bring equipment for public viewing.
