Musselshell County staff and commissioners discussed adding and improving directional signage to guide visitors to the fairgrounds' west-bridge access and the water-fill location. Staff said Kim will create a larger sign to go near the West Bridge and suggested placing approach signage so drivers can find the turnoff.
One staff member noted they would "put the phone number for my office on that board" so callers could be routed appropriately. The group also discussed placing a sign before the approach to the west bridge to give drivers time to turn around if needed. Participants identified specific local landmarks (Stew Sanders's house and a former railroad building) to clarify the route.
The change aims to reduce visitor confusion and limit vehicle safety issues where drivers miss the correct road. The commission discussed coordinating with the sheriff for placement of signage and emphasized that more signs would be preferable.
No formal budget or contract award for sign fabrication was recorded during the meeting; staff said they will proceed with design and placement plans.
