Parks board reports Southeast Playground open, fitness court progress and dog park updates

Parks staff told the board that the Southeast Playground construction is finished and open to the public; remaining tasks include final grading and seating work once weather permits. Staff also said work on the fitness court (driving range) is advancing after a heat-related delay: front installation will occur this Friday, followed by completion of the back wall.

On Market Street, a fence installation was moved slightly and concrete footings were poured to hold the gate and remaining panels; staff expect completion once concrete cures. The dog park is set up and has about 15 people signed up, though staff noted some design features were missed and encouraged community donation or volunteer support to address nonpriority items because of budget limits.
