Acting CEO Clark told the board on Sept. 24 that San Diego Community Power will announce the recipients of its next round of community clean energy grants in October. He said the grant cycle focused on two tracks: clean energy infrastructure and clean energy programming (youth engagement, workforce development and customer education), and that the agency received a record number of applications this year.
Clark also reminded the board that SDCP’s third request for offers (RFO) for the Solar Advantage disadvantaged-community green tariff (DAC-GT) program is open and closes Oct. 30. The program provides additional discounts for qualifying customers and is intended to fund small-scale renewable projects built in or near disadvantaged communities. Clark asked board members to help spread the word to developers and member-agency constituents.
Board members welcomed the announcements and noted existing local planning and developer interest connected to recent county approvals. Clark said staff will follow up with invitations and outreach materials to board members as award dates and event details are finalized.
