Wilkins told the board that the planned redesign for coordinated entry has cleared procurement and that an implementing agency has been selected.
"It has already been identified, and so we're hoping within the next 30 days that that work will start," Wilkins said, adding that the redesign will come with a report-out and recommendations to the board. The redesign is intended to streamline assessment, improve connections to resources and shorten wait times between assessment and resource referral.
Commissioners asked for an implementation timeline and interim updates; staff committed to provide periodic briefings and a final deliverable from the system-design clinic. The procurement and project initiation are timed ahead of winter and encampment-closure planning so redesigned workflows can inform shelter and diversion strategies.
