District facilities staff told the Centennial School District Operations Committee that multiple summer renovations are finished, including family & consumer science (FCS) classrooms that "passed their final inspections" and are now ready for student instruction. Staff said the spirit program was relocated to Swan Way, the Siska area was reconfigured at the high school, and special-needs rooms at Klinger Middle School were upgraded.
"The budget was almost $700,000" for the project, the presenter said, and "went over top of our budget by $12,000" after crews found electrical problems when opening walls. Committee members thanked staff for long-term planning and for completing a project several members described as overdue. One member noted the work improved learning spaces and that teachers are "extremely happy."
Staff showed photographs of the renovated rooms and said furniture and appliances for the FCS classrooms are now in place. The presenter also said the contractor performed well on execution and offered to share full RFP submittals and project documentation with any committee member who requests them. The committee did not take a formal vote on this informational update; staff moved the capital status forward for eventual board consideration.
