Brett Heller, superintendent of Thompson School District R-2J, asked the community to take part in the district's annual climate and culture survey, calling it "a critical opportunity" to share feedback that will shape programming, staffing and processes. Heller said the district uses survey results to make "informed decisions" and described the questionnaire as "a tool for positive change."
Heller outlined who should participate and what the survey will cover: students in grades 3 through 12 will be asked to reflect on their social-emotional skills, relationships with teachers and whether they feel safe and supported at school; teachers and staff are asked to report on support, connection and professional-development needs; and families and community members are asked to share perceptions of district priorities and communication. "Your voice matters. Your feedback is our road map," Heller said as he urged broad participation.
The superintendent said the survey is available online and should take only a few minutes to complete. He also announced the district is introducing shorter monthly check-ins to gather more timely feedback during the school year. Heller closed by thanking the community for its partnership and support.
