Council adopts several budget and contract measures, including $344,775 slab-replacement contract

Council moved through a series of fiscal and contract items and adopted multiple ordinances and resolutions that the administration characterized as routine adjustments and necessary contract awards.

Finance staff described the reappropriation ordinance (082501) that accounted for a 27th pay period and transfers to the municipal motor vehicle fund to buy salt; council adopted the ordinance after a roll-call. Council also adopted resolutions directing the county auditor to place unpaid bills on the tax duplicate and accepted a small EMS training and equipment grant from the Ohio Division of EMS.

On capital work, council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor and director of finance to enter into a contract with Construction King Inc. of Brunswick, Ohio, for the 2026 slab replacement program in the amount of $344,775.00. Staff said contracts were advertised and that work is expected this year pending execution of the contract. All measures were adopted during the meeting by motion and roll-call vote.
