Superintendent Bishop presented a three‑year strategic plan for Hopkinton Public Schools that organizes district priorities around six commitments — including academic growth, belonging, future readiness and operational sustainability — and 13 strategic objectives with 46 action items across three years.
Bishop said the plan is intended as a three‑year roadmap (to June 2029) and stressed that the district improvement plan will translate FY27 deliverables into measurable actions. "The three‑year strategic plan establishes the district's long‑term vision... the district improvement plan identifies the specific work that we'll complete year‑to‑year to move the plan forward," Bishop said.
Committee discussion focused on sequencing and feasibility. One committee member raised concerns about reliance on PBIS (positive behavioral interventions and supports), calling it reductive for some students and urging exploration of alternatives; Bishop and other administrators said the plan will inventory current practices and that some SEL work is scheduled for later years to allow evaluation. The committee voted to approve the three‑year strategic plan and the FY27 district improvement plan by voice vote.
The superintendent also presented four proposed annual goals tied to the plan — instructional consistency, transition readiness for reconfiguration, strengthened communication, and leadership coherence — and the committee discussed timelines for midcycle and year‑end evaluation checkpoints.
