The Solano County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing September 2026 as Workforce Development Month and invited the county Workforce Development Board to describe local services. Supervisor Williams introduced the resolution and asked staff to highlight the county's partnerships with community colleges, employers and workforce providers.
"On behalf of our staff of the workforce development board of Solano County, we thank you for recognizing the month of September as workforce development month," David Hubbell told the board, outlining programs that serve veterans, people with disabilities and residents with employment barriers. Hubbell said the recent Workforce Scholar event, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, honored local participants and partners.
The resolution notes the role of collaboration among educational agencies, labor, businesses and workforce boards in building a skilled talent pipeline. The board approved the proclamation by a 5-0 roll-call vote. Chair Brown and other supervisors thanked staff and attendees for the presentation and the board's continued support of workforce programming.
