The council approved amendments to two conditional‑use permits that will allow outdoor bistro seating and seasonal decor for two new downtown businesses, including Frozen Farming LLC. Applicant Katie Evans described plans for two to four bistro sets initially, seasonal planters and a sidewalk sandwich board located on private property.
Council required standard conditions consistent with previous approvals: the outdoor extension must not restrict deliveries, trash removal or emergency access; no smoking is permitted in the outdoor service area; and the area must be cleared of patrons by 11:00 p.m. Commissioner Persinger moved approval with those conditions and the council voted in favor by voice.
Public commenters supported the businesses; resident David Moskowitz urged consistency with prior conditions (noise, ADA and access compliance), and local business supporter Steve Montgomery praised the new non‑alcohol businesses as positive additions to Dewey’s daytime economy. The applicants said they will maintain trash, sweep sidewalks daily and remove outdoor furniture each evening to comply with the terms.
