Noah Stobnik, representing the North Castle Historical Society and the Revolutionary War 250 steering committee, told the board that his work on the committee has deepened his appreciation for local history and the Constitution's ongoing relevance.
"The Constitution begins with three words almost all of us recognize, 'we the people,'" Noah said, and he encouraged the board to consider making Constitution Week observances — including Bells Across America on Sept. 17 — a town tradition. Noah connected local landmarks and sites to broader Revolutionary-era events and urged the board to use the anniversary year to foster civic engagement among students.
Board members praised the presentation and expressed support for investigating Bells Across America as a town event. The supervisor thanked the North Castle Historical Society and the 250th steering committee for involving young people and said the board would "look into that." No formal action was requested or taken.
