The Airport Board opened by welcoming Weston Johnson as its newest member and noting that longtime member Lori was attending her final meeting.
Chair called the meeting to order and introduced Weston Johnson, saying he would be taking James Boone’s place on the board. Weston Johnson introduced himself to the board: “Weston Johnson, been in Abilene for a little over 6 years. Born and raised in Houston.” He described his ties to the community, attendance at ACU, work as a banker and family details.
The chair also announced that Lori had officially retired and was resigning from the board. Lori responded, “It's what is absolutely my favorite board that I've served on,” and reflected on service totaling more than a decade. The board then moved to approve the July 22 minutes; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote with members saying “Aye.”
