Shawnee County commissioners voted unanimously Sept. 24 to approve voucher payments totaling $2,485,250.64, County Clerk Lisa Schmidt told the board.
Schmidt highlighted several large entries: $135,000 to Jubilee Construction for a 2023 wheeled excavator purchased by Parks and Recreation (charged to parks/equipment/building maintenance/golf revolving and a CFAP federal grant), a $298,162.71 progress payment to KBS Constructors for the Gage Park carousel project (paid with Gage Park sales tax funds), and $114,573 to We Build Fund Incorporated for seating within Gage Park Playland. "We have vouchers that total 2,485,250.64," Schmidt said in opening the item.
Commissioner Bill Ripon moved to approve the vouchers; Commissioner Kevin Cook seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote. The consent action was taken alongside routine correction orders and other agenda items. Additional line items reported by the clerk included health-insurance premium charges for county employees; where dollar figures in the transcript are unclear, the clerk said details are available in the official voucher report on file with the clerk's office.
