Haldane Central School has asked the Village of Cold Spring to approve a Homecoming Parade on Oct. 9, 2026, with a lineup around 5:00 p.m. and a 5:30 p.m. start time. The school provided a route that proceeds up Main Street to the intersection with Route 9D, then turns onto Craigside Drive toward the football field, and noted both Fire Companies and PVAC are expected to participate.
"I expect participation from both Fire Companies and PVAC (I will be reaching out to them upon approval of the event) with approximately 300 people marching behind," Kristen Peparo of Haldane Central School wrote to the village events coordinator. Events coordinator Lillian Moser has asked the school to submit a formal letter with date, time, participant estimates and a map so the village can begin permit processing.
The request appears on the Board of Trustees special meeting agenda for Sept. 24, 2026, as a motion to approve the school's application; the agenda lists a map as attached. Mayor Kathleen E. Foley acknowledged the exchange and copied the events coordinator, directing staff to work with the school to complete the permit paperwork before the Board acts.
If approved, the parade will likely require traffic control and coordination with emergency services along Main Street and Route 9D. The agenda does not record a board vote or any conditions; the motion is listed for consideration at the special meeting.
