During new business the board took first readings of an extensive set of capital and bond resolutions (R-26-059 through R-26-074) that together would authorize borrowing for wastewater-treatment upgrades, sewer infrastructure, landfill improvements, capital equipment purchases, public-pool repairs, library renovation design, fire training and station projects, an ERP replacement and a new public-works garage and fleet facility.
Each measure was assigned to the Budget Review Committee and to the relevant oversight board (Board of Public Works, Board of Fire Commissioners or Library Trustees), and public hearings were scheduled for Oct. 6 or Oct. 26 depending on the item. Sponsors across the board emphasized the need to maintain and replace aging infrastructure; administration staff noted sequencing and grant opportunities will shape the final bond proposals.
These first readings signal the next phase of committee review and public hearings; several measures include dollar caps and will return for final votes after committee review and public comment.
