Business-services staff reviewed the near-term budget calendar and key dates that will determine final numbers for the 2026–27 budget. Administrators said finalized equalization property valuations arrive Oct. 1, the district finalizes third-Friday and open-enrollment counts shortly thereafter, and finalized equalization aid is not expected until Oct. 15.
Because some pieces of revenue and enrollment data will not be final at the regular October finance meeting, staff said the board may need a special finance meeting on Oct. 21. The district annual meeting is scheduled for Oct. 28 (auditorium at 5 p.m.), and the board will vote to approve the budget and tax levy at the following board meeting once numbers are finalized. Staff reiterated they aim to keep a fund balance near 19–20% and to limit audit findings; the audit submission to DPI is due Dec. 15.
