The superintendent told the Little Ferry Board of Education on Sept. 23 that construction at Liberty Middle School is progressing as planned and that the school’s new kitchen is nearly ready for use.
"By the end of next week, we will uh have our health inspection and we will be full-fledged in our cafeteria ready to go," the superintendent said during the facilities update. He also reported that HVAC work at Liberty is complete and that site trailers have been removed, allowing full power to the building.
The superintendent said Memorial School still requires testing before a project there is considered complete and noted the district’s HIP report showed zero incidents at Washington School and one at Memorial School; he said a resolution on that item will appear on a future agenda for board consideration.
Board members asked no follow-up questions at the time. The superintendent presented the updates as routine project milestones; the board did not take formal action on those items at the meeting.
