Hammond City approved the request to hold the 2026 Veterans Appreciation Day parade on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026. The request came from special events coordinator Eileen Abera and included a proposed route and the requirement for police approval.
The board moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote. Staff noted route and police coordination will be required as the event planning proceeds; a separate neighborhood special event request on the same date was deferred for that reason.
