City Manager John O'Brien announced two community roundtables this September to explain the city budget and the Fiscal Transformation Initiative. The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Cook Memorial Library; O'Brien said residents can attend in person or watch on the city's YouTube channel or Facebook page. "We'll explain how the city budget works, answer your questions, and build the foundation for what comes next," he said.
A second meeting is planned for Thursday, Sept. 17 at City Hall to dig deeper into FTI, PACE, and the choices available to work toward a balanced sustainable financial future. O'Brien described these sessions as opportunities for shared understanding and early engagement so that the city can plan before reserves are depleted and options narrow. The announcement included explicit invitations to participate online for those unable to attend in person.
The sessions are presented as public engagement steps rather than formal votes or policy adoptions; no motions or budget decisions were made during the recording.
