Yolanda Velasquez entered a no-contest plea to driving while intoxicated (third or more). The court accepted stipulated exhibits, found sufficient evidence and pronounced a four-year sentence suspended and probated with conditions including regular reporting, TAP evaluation, ignition interlock, a two-year license suspension and 45 days of GPS in lieu of 10 days in the Bear County Jail.
The judge explained GPS options and constraints: full GPS would be 15 days, partial GPS for employment and transportation of a minor would be longer; the court adopted partial GPS for 45 days to allow Velasquez to keep working and transport her child to school. The judge emphasized treatment and sober-support meeting attendance as part of probation and offered to help secure resources if needed: "Probation will go over conditions. Okay? Don't hesitate if you need something for probation. Let them know. We're here to help you."
