County staff updated commissioners on several infrastructure projects. The Apple Valley entrance and the new sewer/department building are "on pace" and the contractor (identified in the transcript as Crocs) is aiming for completion by Thanksgiving, barring adverse weather. "I think everything is it's on pace. I believe it'll be done by probably Thanksgiving," a staff member said.
The transit center is completing drywall and ceilings with flooring scheduled next; staff also said they anticipate substantial completion around Thanksgiving. Paving outside the new transit building will receive a base layer in the third week of October, with the final course slated for spring.
On courthouse accessibility, the architect is doing additional investigations and had elevator contractors on site to evaluate options. Staff noted any work will have to be bid and that elevator repairs will be costly. The board asked staff and the architect (Josh) to continue assessing feasible approaches and procurement steps for the elevator work.
No budget approvals or contract awards were completed at this meeting for these projects; the updates were informational and staff will return with cost and procurement details as they become available.
