The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran used the right of reply to strongly condemn the presence of Israel’s prime minister at the United Nations General Assembly, calling it "an utmost disgrace to this body" and arguing that it contradicts the UN Charter’s purpose to "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war." The representative asked, "How can a person who is currently facing proceedings before two international courts for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide be allowed to be present in this assembly?"
Iran's representative presented several numeric and legal claims. The statement asserted that "in less than two years, the Israeli regime dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosive on Gaza, equivalent to the total energy, approximately 13 Hiroshima type nuclear bombs," and claimed that the regime "brutally killed nearly 75,000 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, and injured around 157,000 others." The representative further asserted that "In January 2024, the ICJ and in September 2025, the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded that the Israeli regime is committing genocide in Gaza," and asked why the Assembly does not "invoke article six of the charter of the United Nations to expel this regime from the organization for persistently violating the UN's principles."
The statement also accused the United States of being the "principal accomplice" in the alleged crimes and referenced past killings of Iranian figures, including an asserted assassination "at the direct order of the United States President," and warned that any further aggression against Iran "will be met with a decisive and devastating response." The delegate closed by framing resistance as a national tradition and returning thanks to the President. The Assembly took no immediate procedural vote on Iran's requests during the session.
