The presenter said the district convenes a community engagement team, led locally by Cara Jenkins, to review data and co-design supports for the school. She said the team includes teachers, families and community members and will help shape the continuation plan's priorities.
As part of the community school model the school plans a comprehensive needs assessment to identify local priorities. The presenter said response rates to previous needs assessments typically hover around 35
40% and urged higher parent participation to make the resulting plan more responsive to family needs. She also encouraged parents to join the PTO and the community engagement team and mentioned communication platforms (ParentSquare and grade-level newsletters) the school uses to stay in contact with families.
The presenter said a community engagement meeting will likely be scheduled in mid-October and that families can follow ParentSquare for details and additional opportunities to be involved.
