The CRA board voted to award a notice of intent to lease the three tenant suites at 95 Southwest 5th Avenue to the Florida Atlantic University Community Health Alliance (FAU NCHA) and authorized CRA staff to enter lease negotiations.
Assistant Director Christine Tibs described a reissued notice of intent to lease that produced a single responsive applicant: FAU NCHA, which operates clinics in Westgate and West Palm Beach and proposes relocating to Delray Beach and expanding pharmacy capacity. "We would like the board to award the notice of intent to lease the three tenant suites within 95 Southwest 5th Avenue to Florida Atlantic University Community Health Alliance to operate a community health center and authorize the CRA staff to enter into lease negotiations with them," Tibs told the board.
The applicant indicated it will accept a range of insurance, seek federally qualified health center look-alike status, and partner with FAU's nursing college for staffing and training. The CRA will return any negotiated lease to the board for final approval; members stressed the importance of lease provisions that protect the CRA's public-purpose uses and control assignment or sublease rights.
