The Westboro Good Scout event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4, and organizers say proceeds stay in town to support scouts with scholarships, camping fees and equipment. "It allows us to raise some funds," said a committee member, describing how honorees help by reaching out to their networks to support local scouting.
Betsy Moquin, a member of the Good Scout committee, described the evening format — a cocktail hour, scout opening remarks and honoree presentation — and emphasized the committee's goal of both honoring service and ensuring funds directly benefit Westborough scouts. "It gives us a chance to honor someone from Westbrow or a business owner in West Bro who's done a lot of good for the community and kind of reflects on and supports the scout mission," she said.
Organizers noted the event typically includes a current scout speaker whose personal story underscores the impact of scholarships and camp experiences. Moquin encouraged residents to visit the scouting website for tickets and sponsorship information; the committee also asks honorees to remain engaged with future selections and outreach to maximize fundraising.
