Sparing Middle School presented a learning report and several recognitions to the Lindbergh Schools Board. Dr. Lauren Boer introduced student spotlights Sid Swift and Josephine "Joe" Bomb, named Anita Malich as support staff of the year and Kristen Gary as teacher of the year, and thanked families in attendance. The presentation emphasized social-emotional learning and academic gains.
Dr. Boer reported that the current freshman class (class of 2030) showed strong Panorama SEL screener participation, noting Sparing led the district with a 95.6% administration rate. She said 305 middle-school students took 610 high-school-level courses with a 91.3% passing rate and highlighted MAP and cohort gains (fifth-to-sixth-grade proficiency rose from 61.5% to 67.2%). Dr. Boer also described a pilot to score WINGS core values in student planners and sync those scores to Infinite Campus as a Lindberg Life success-skills initiative.
"We were the highest number one school in the district at 95.6% for our administration of this assessment and screener," Dr. Boer told the board. The board discussed rubric examples and teacher feedback processes; Dr. Boer described a simple proficiency rubric, feedback cards, and conferencing during flyer time as mechanisms to operationalize the pilot.
