At a special meeting of the Nashua Board of Aldermen on Sept. 22, Tim Lamir, the owner's project manager for the Elm Street garage project, gave a progress report on repairs and improvements to the Elm and High Street parking garages.
"This project is funded with a $15 million bond," Lamir said, listing allocations of about $11.1 million for phase one, $2.8 million for phase two and $1.1 million for phase three. He described phase one as primarily structural repairs (about 90% complete), phase two at Elm Street as an office renovation and expansion now in final design, and phase three as facade and wayfinding improvements (about 30% complete). Lamir gave target completion windows: phase one wrapping up this fall; phase two expected in summer 2027; and some phase three work extending into spring 2027.
The update included photographs and descriptions of spot concrete and steel repairs, and Lamir emphasized phase-two work will move from design into construction as plans are handed off. No formal action or vote was required on the report; aldermen did not raise substantive questions during the presentation.
The work is funded by the bond authorization the city previously approved; staff said timelines remain subject to final construction scheduling and procurement. The presentation closed with staff noting remaining permit and construction milestones ahead of the public-facing phase-two work.
