Town Manager Jim Drumm briefed the council on a broad set of infrastructure projects. He reported that the police CAD (computer aided dispatch) transition completed on Sept. 9 and is operational; crews are progressing on culvert work and drainage improvements; and the Bunker Hill bridge replacement is under construction with the road expected to remain closed through November while precast pieces and spillway work are completed.
Drumm also updated the council that US Route 6 paving and striping are nearly finished and that the town is conducting a third lake treatment on Boundary Lake with a related public "State of the Lake" forum rescheduled to the lodge for Sept. 22 because of a facility issue at the original venue. For the Broadway culvert project, Drumm said state bonding will reimburse the town and the town will handle engineering and contractor procurement, and an RFP will be issued for consultant services.
Councilors asked clarifying questions about project timelines, state involvement in grant administration and public notification for the relocated lake meeting; staff said they had notified typical attendees and would post notices and have staff available to redirect visitors at the event.
