The East Longmeadow Planning Board conditionally approved Little Caesars’ request to extend its closing time from 10 p.m. to midnight, setting several conditions aimed at limiting late‑night deliveries and ensuring adequate on‑site parking. The board said it would approve the hours if the applicant reinstalls a missing third designated parking sign, submits proof to the building department, and provides the planning office with a letter directing vendors not to deliver outside the 8 a.m.–5 p.m. window.
Resident Rolando Curtis, who lives directly behind the restaurant, told the board he opposes the midnight extension in part because large delivery trucks already pull up “next to my tree line” and sometimes idle for hours. “My biggest opposition to this extended hours is the trucks pull up next to my tree line, and they're there for hours at a time,” Curtis said, adding he has raised the issue with local police.
Planning staff noted the original conditions required deliveries between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and said the board could require a vendor‑notification letter and proof that signage has been restored before final sign‑off. Committee member speaker 4 moved to approve the request with those conditions; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
The board asked staff to monitor compliance and suggested residents contact the new planning director or building department with evidence if deliveries continue past the restricted hours.
