Nathan Fisher, speaking during public comment, urged the commissioners to examine a proposed data center and said the process around nominations and representation had been controversial in Granville Township. "We're faced with some pretty serious issues in Granville Town Township right now... with a data center potentially being proposed to be built," Fisher said, and he added that the issue had contributed to the resignation of a township supervisor.
Fisher alleged potential conflicts of interest related to one official: "Mary Curto sits on the... township manager and also on the Midland County Municipal Authority board of directors, and she leaves the township building during township hours while she's collecting a township salary for being the township manager and goes to the board of directors meetings and gets paid to be sitting in a board of directors meeting." Commissioners explained the appointment process — municipalities nominate board members and the county makes the formal appointment — and suggested removal for malfeasance is possible, but no formal investigation or action was initiated at the meeting.
The claim that an individual is collecting two salaries was raised as an allegation by a member of the public and not substantiated or disproved on the record during the meeting. Commissioners advised the commenter on municipal nomination procedures; Speaker 2 and the chair described that municipalities supply nominees and the county appoints them.
