The Village announced that the Army Corps awarded the contract to Leducer Associates to drill a new production well at 502 Bayberry.
"The army corps has awarded the project to the Leducer Associates. Work is gonna be starting within the next few weeks," Village administrator John Di Francisco said, adding that the project will be a two‑year effort and will require staging at the wagon park and barging equipment in for mobilization.
Di Francisco described the first phase as site clearing, decommissioning an old test well, removing decking on adjacent properties to create workspace and then drilling (he referenced a depth reported in the meeting as roughly 450–457 feet). He warned that work will require temporary use of community property for staging and asked residents to remove stored items from the wagon park before the contractor mobilizes.
Village officials provided an estimated two‑year schedule and said they expect the project will not be completed by next spring; a spring 2028 completion window was discussed.
