Council members asked whether the next round of Dwyer funding would reduce the number of organizations delivering programming after DVS said 31 groups received funding in the first cycle and 23 have been prequalified for the next. Chief of Staff Nicole told the committee that each organization in the pilot received $20,000 and DVS is working with partners to ensure previously funded recipients can be prequalified to receive additional funds when the program is fully implemented.
"For the Dwyer programming that had run, we did a participant survey after each of the programs...throughout the life cycle of the last Dwyer funding, we've seen over 1,800 participants," Nicole said, adding that roughly 62% of those participants were veterans. Committee members asked for a borough-by-borough comparison of organizations funded in the first cycle and those prequalified for the next cycle; DVS committed to provide that breakdown and to collect stronger aftercare data to measure sustained outcomes.
