The council approved a request from Anthony McKee to close Broad Street for Light Up Pine Mountain on Nov. 13 beginning at 6:00 p.m.; Mayor Mullins suggested using a trailer as a stage and James W. Trott, Jr. moved to approve the street closure.
Mayor Mullins also presented the first reading of a retail off-premises malt beverage and wine license for Pine Mountain 343 Inc., located at 343 N. Main Avenue in the name of James D. Hetherton; no vote was recorded on the first reading during this meeting. Later the council approved a Christmas Parade on Dec. 5 at 2:00 p.m., including permission to place a food truck across from the bank in a couple of parking spaces; Curtis Bray moved to approve and Stokeley Pound seconded.
The minutes record approval for Light Up and the Christmas Parade but do not include details on DOT approvals for parade routes (the minutes say DOT must be contacted) or insurance/fee requirements for the license first reading.
